Alonso Aguilera is a Chilean yoga teacher and contemporary dancer, blending the principles of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, and Yin to create dynamic and transformative experiences for his students. Founder of Kulavidyā, Alonso’s journey into yoga began in 2003 while studying contemporary dance, where he discovered the profound impact yoga had on his body, mind, and spirit. This transformative experience set him on the path of becoming a dedicated and passionate teacher.
Having studied with esteemed teachers in the Ashtanga tradition, including Sharath Jois, Saraswathi Jois, and BNS Iyengar, Alonso has taught yoga around the globe for nearly two decades. His deep connection to India has drawn him back every year since 2016, where he continues to immerse himself in study and spiritual practice.
Alonso teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in the tradition of the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, while seamlessly integrating his background in dance to craft unique Vinyasa Flow sequences. His classes combine movement, breath, and meditation, offering an accessible, yet deeply enriching experience for practitioners of all levels. Alonso’s approach is both dynamic and gentle, guiding his students through practices that are challenging, uplifting, and transformative.
At the heart of his teaching, Alonso is committed to spiritual healing and meditation, helping students align their physical bodies with their minds and souls. His mission is to inspire others to embrace their fullest potential, unlocking their unique gifts and stepping into their brightest selves.
